"Slick Nic" joined the group in June 2006.

Nic has always been involved with music,
from playing drums in Kindergarten,
to currently teaching Elementary Music in Proctor, MN
(he often hears "hey, Mr. Tuuuuuuci!)

After graduating from Duluth Central High School, he started playing in bands.
He was a performer at Iron World USA, and the next summer
working as a “Singing Deckhand” aboard the
Vista Star dinner cruise/sightseeing boat in the Duluth harbor.

During his last year at UMD, while student teaching at Duluth Denfeld High School,
Nic was part of a vocal choir that sang backup with Barry Manilow.

In 1990 the first gigging band he was involved with was "Dr. Soul & The Blueshounds",
then the "Crossover" group, before spending 9 years with "The UnColas".

Nic not only adds some groovy bass playing to The Shackshakers, but is a
welcome addition on lead & harmony vocals, and is great with the clientele.

Many dancers can hardly wait to do the "The Stroll" with Nic!
